Garland Hawthorn Brahe Lawyers has acted for owners of land whose land has been compulsorily acquired and has assisted those owners in relation to issues associated with the assessment of compensation.

They have supervised the referral of many matters to the Supreme Court and to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Issues associated with compulsory land acquisition include not only the assessment of compensation but also those associated with payment of advances of compensation, settlement of claims for compensation and all manner of transactions consequent upon acquisition.

Issues associated with land valuation also arise in relation to rate assessments and assessments by various revenue authorities.
