Experience
When David Brahe became a partner in 1964, he was the fourth generation of the Brahe family to be a partner in the firm. His great, great uncle, William Alexander Brahe established the firm with John McGregor and Robert Ramsay in 1856.
David practises in all areas of property law, with particular emphasis on valuation, compulsory land acquisition and compensation. His expertise in these areas is well recognised. He acts for a diversity of corporate and government clients.
David’s expertise in property law led the Victorian and New South Wales governments to invite him to assist in preparing related legislation.
In November 2006, David received the Presidents prize from the Law Institute of Victoria. The award recognises David’s professional excellence in practicing law and in providing outstanding service to the community.
David is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Victorian Planning and Environment Law Association.
